Just coming around after my dental appointment. Just that sentence I fixed about 8 typos. So I’m gonna struggle typing.
I got in the car and started out to the dentists and my partner realised we had forgotten someone. … I gasped… it was little green squishy tree frog that has come with me to every appointment. Lyn said to turn around but with the morning traffic we would’ve been late. I thought the pharmacy should be open – I ‘ll find something to squeeze in there.
Made myself known that I was here for my appointment and mention I forgot my froggy. Stephenai speaks up and says, “I got something you can use” so she goes out back and returns with a little white teddy bear with a ribbon round it’s neck. Squisshy yes! It was lovely! She gave me a hug and said I could keep him but I had to name him. I tossed up betweeing naming him Nirav but then settled for Denny…. as in Dentist. I think that stuck!
So Dr. Nirva was only doing a final implant and replace my bottom bridge. I had taken the 2 sedatives prior and said he wouldn’t use the nitrous. But after getting all the numbing needles I was feeling too much of things and felt some moments of gagging coming so I opted to have the gas. That worked and I settled down quite calmly after that.
I felt the bottom bridge come off and then heard some drilling sounds. NOt sure what tooth or how or what was being done but I always ask Lyn those questions of what was done when I’m more coherent. When I can actually remember. But then that was it. My new lower temp bridge went on and I was done. I came home and slept for a few hours.
I’m awake now with a slight bit of pain on my lower left side where the implant was placed. My bottom temps feel nice and low and tight so I”m praying I won’t be slurring or spitting as much anymore.
I’m having some emotional moments today because it’s all happening so fast and quickly now. The worst of everything seems to done and it’s all relatively pretty easy from here on out. I hope!
Anxious to have my final permanent teeth put in place and my speech back to normal. And plans of a little accomplishment party may be in the making. One of Lyn’s posts on her Facebook page just about sums it up and says…
“Once again she did great, it just amazes me how far she has come with her journey towards her personal goal. A lot of this has to do with the total professional care and acceptance of Dee’s fear and no Dentist better anywhere than this gentle shy man, transforming my girl back to confidence and inner calm. I thank you.
The entire team at The Dentists Cairns have been nothing but fantastic so far, this has been a huge factor to help Dee to overcome deep set anxieties surrounding Dentists.
Their friendly and caring attitudes from all the assistants and personal touch from the owner has certainly been above and beyond my expectations. I thank you.
As I sit and watch over her sleeping, after yet another appointment, I am so proud of her achievements since coming into my life.
Always by your side as you are by mine baby.
So here I am all emotional over this. What Lyn has seem me go through and struggle with, the pain, anguish, the guts and all its glory… SHE amazes me too.
So until my next appointment in probably a few months. I’ll only be getting full mouth X-ray to see the progression of the implants.
